Suggested Navajoland Itinerary

Day One: Depart Flagstaff, AZ. and head north on U.S. Highway 89 and drive to Le Chee, AZ. for a mid-morning hike into Antelope Canyon, which is just a few minutes drive southeast of Page along State Highway 98. Enjoy an afternoon of boating at Lake Powell and take a trip to Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Depart for Tuba City, take U.S. Highway 89 south and turn northeast on U.S. Highway 160. Tour Tuba City Trading Post and spend the night in Tuba City.

Day Two: Depart Tuba City - take U.S. Highway 160 to Kayenta. Turn north on State Highway 564 to take a tour of Navajo National Monument. Proceed to Kayenta, AZ. and head north on U.S. Highway 163 to beautiful Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Take a hiking, horseback riding or van tour with a step-tour guide to really grasp a Navajo cultural perspective of the valley. Take an afternoon drive to Four Corners National Monument by taking U.S. Highway 160 east and then take a one-hour scenic drive southeast on State Highway 506 through Teecnospos, AZ and Belabito, N.M. to capture a picture of Shiprock.. Spend the night in Kayenta.

Day Three: Depart Kayenta and drive east on U.S. Highway 160 and turn south on Indian Route 59 towards Chinle, AZ. Take a hiking, horseback riding, or jeep tour of Canyon de Chelly National Monument with a Navajo tour guide. Take an afternoon tour of the very first American Indian owned college in the U.S. - Dine College - by taking Indian Route 64 east. Visit the Hatathlie Museum. Spend the night in Chinle.

Day Four: Depart Chinle and take U.S. Highway 191 south to Ganado, AZ. Take a tour of Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site and proceed to Window Rock – the capital of the Navajo Nation on Highway 264. Take a tour of the Veterans Memorial Park, which is immediately adjacent to a unique rock formation called Window Rock. The Park is also home of a beautiful Navajo Code Talker Statue. Other places to visit in Window Rock are the Navajo Nation Council Chambers, which is next door to the Park. Other attractions in Window Rock are located along State Highway 264, which are the Navajo Nation Museum, the Navajo Tribal Zoo; and the Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise. Depart the Navajo Nation.
